No way in the world is that possible! I've got to come up with something more original to say, but really I just can't believe my baby is a month old already. It feels like I was just heading to the hospital yesterday.
At the same time, it feels like forever. I can't even remember what life was like without him. He is the center of my universe, and I can't believe I ever lived without him.
The past couple of weeks have been a little tough, with the reflux starting, but I still wouldn't trade it for anything in the world. I would make it so my poor baby wasn't screaming in pain, but otherwise he is just so perfect in every way. Even though eating (and the hour after) is painful for him, he still eats like a champ and was 9 lb 6 oz at the doctor on Tuesday, at just 4 weeks! He has gained 2 lbs in his first month of life! It just amazes me.
Everything he does amazes me. He's starting to make eye contact with us more and more. He has crazy neck strength and is starting to hold his head up on his own (although it is very bouncy and quick - he has a ways to go before he really holds it up :-P). I've also caught him rolling onto his side a few times. He no longer sleeps in his bassinet for naps because he isn't crazy about sleeping flat on his back, but we have found that he loves his swing on the front to back motion. With the music on he goes right out.
And the biggest milestone to report today is that to celebrate his 1 month birthday, Jamie slept through the night last night! He was super fussy from the reflux last night, but we were able to calm him and get him to sleep around 10:30. However he had eaten very poorly around 9, so I figured he'd be back up by midnight to eat again. Imagine my surprise when I woke up at 4! At first I thought I forgot I fed him because I was tired, but my boobs quickly told me otherwise. Holy rock hard engorged boobs, batman! I ran into his room but he was sound asleep. He ended up sleeping until 5:30. I still cannot believe he did it! If only I had slept the whole time :-P But I still got more than I have been. I am no fool, so I don't think this will happen again any time soon, but it was a nice taste of things to come!
Happy 1 Month, Jamie! And yay for you sleeping through the night!
ReplyDeleteI can't believe it's been a month either, J - I can only imagine how it seems to you and J! You're doing such a wonderful job :)
Aww thanks K :-) Jamie wants a visitor again! :-P
ReplyDeleteIf you figure out a way to slow down time, let me know! They are growing too quickly! Sorry about the reflux! Jones has it too...sucks!!!
