2 weeks.

It has been the two fastest, longest, hardest, best, most amazing two weeks of my life. Motherhood is... well it's hard to put it to words. It's the best thing I have ever done. It's also the most challenging thing I've ever done. But I love every second of it.

We're getting much better at breastfeeding. We've settled into a bit of a rhythm. I wouldn't call it a schedule or anything like that, but a rhythm.

At two weeks, Jamie is staying awake more, but still sleeping lots! While he does pass out drunk at the boob to end every feeding, he wakes up quickly while we burp him and stays awake for a bit before going to sleep again. He used to just stay passed out. Speaking of sleep, he loves to sleep on his belly, but he's only allowed to do that when he's on our chests. But when he gets fussy (which is hardly ever) that is the best way to soothe him. Over the weekend we stopped waking him to feed, since he is already so far past his birth weight. It has made for a dramatic improvement in our lives!

To celebrate two weeks of life, he had his first projectile spit-up all over me today. It was quite the experience! He also had his first real bath today. He was NOT happy about that. But as soon as I wrapped him up in his towel he couldn't have been happier and promptly fell asleep.

Today was also a big outing day. While we have been out with him a bunch to the supermarket, to get ice cream, and to the doctor, he had never been more than 10 minutes from home. Today he went a half hour from home and went to three different stores so I could exchange some clothes that were the wrong size. He's got a bunch of cute new outfits now, and slept through the entire outing.

Speaking of outings, I have to take a second to give my two week review of a couple of things. Today we used our UPPAbaby Vista stroller for the first time for an outing. It made our trip sooo easy because he slept the whole time, so I just popped the car seat in and out of the frame at each new destination. While that was our first time using the stroller for an outing, we have been using it every single day at home. We have a small house, so rather than take up more space with the PNP, we have the stroller set up with the bassinet in the living room. He naps in that during the day and has since we came home. We also took a walk the other day and the stroller handled amazingly on our awful road. So far I can't say enough good things about this stroller!

On the other hand, for every other outing I have been wearing him. So far we have only used the Moby, but oh man do I loooove that thing! When we go out with only one destination it is so easy to just pop him in the Moby and have my hands free the whole time. AND, after he gave me such a hard time about all of the carriers we got, J has worn the Moby and loves it too! I gotta be honest, I couldn't take my eyes off him when he was wearing Jamie. It was just too cute.

Finally, I have to take a second to AW about myself. While I have a ways to go, I am feeling very good about my weight loss. I still have a nice little pouch, but it's going down more and more every day. I also noticed within a few days after having him that my swelling was all going down, in places I hadn't even realized how much I was swollen! My feet are totally normal again, and my legs! My legs had puffed out way more than I could tell at the time, but now I see a huge difference. And today I braved a scale. I gained 50 lbs by the end, and am officially down to 17 lbs above my pre-pregnancy weight. That feels so good! Hopefully I will be able to take the rest of it off in the coming months.

So that is the latest with us from the last two weeks. I will try to do bi-weekly updates on Jamie as regularly as possible! And I will try my best to get some more pictures that I deem okay to share on here :-)
