At 6 weeks old Jamie is all grown up! ::sob:: (I am so over dramatic.) He is making lots of new sounds - coos, grunts, blahs, squawks, etc. Lately he thinks naps are for losers, which makes the whole WAHM thing a bit difficult, but we're managing. He still sleeps amazingly at night, so I really can't complain about the lack of sleep during the day.
He almost always only wakes once at night. He has had a few more long stretches, but he has timed them poorly. For example, he will eat at 8, and then not eat again until 3 or 4. If I had known he wasn't getting up again at 11 I would have gone to bed after the 8 o'clock feeding, dammit! Last night in an attempt to push that long stretch into a normal time frame I woke him at 11 to feed. I will call it a semi fail. He was so out of it still that he didn't eat much, so he woke again at 4:45 to eat. A bit of a longer stretch, but not as long as he has had before.
Jamie is such a strong little baby - he holds up his head on his own a lot, and even lifts his head on his own sometimes when we pull him up by his arms! He amazes me. His reflux is getting so much better - the meds have made such a difference. It still bothers him some, but nothing like it was.
And this edition's most exciting update yet - HE SMILES! Real smiles, not just reflex smiles. He just started this past weekend. And I thought I was in love with him before... Now? Forget it! This little boy can have whatever he wants in the world as long as he keeps flashing those smiles at me.
And now without further ado, some pictures.
Teeny little fingers.
Actually I think he is going to have huge hands like me. But they're still teeny :-)
Itty bitty feetsies. Actually those are quite big too. We fear he inherited my father's feet. They are gross. Poor boy. But as a baby, they are cute :-)
I often call him my froggy when he scrunches his legs up while we cuddle. His feet were lined up with the frog's feet on his bouncer, so I had to take a pic!
Maybe it's a Jamie thing...cause my little man has big hands and feet too...just like his mama!
ReplyDeleteThat's too funny! My feet are normal sized, but I definitely have man hands :-P It's the one thing I think he got from me!
ReplyDeleteMy dad has paws. There is nothing feminine about my hands. At least I have my good looks? haha.
ReplyDeleteJamie is so damn cute. Aren't the froggy legs the best? I think I'm going to miss them the most. ::tear::
Yeah I definitely got my dad's hands too J! And seriously when he stops scrunching his legs like that I will be so sad :(
