"Tastes like chocolate, smells like cow shit."

~David J. Matthews. His words, not mine. But I wholeheartedly agree. Not once did we smell chocolate! We were so disappointed. But it was hilarious listening to Dave talk about it randomly throughout the show. At one point he said 'woah I thought I got a wiff of chocolate, but nope, just cow shit again!' He is so hilarious.

But let's start at the beginning.. Road trip to PA! We got started at 6:15, only 15 minutes later than we planned on. That is really good for us :-P

Here we are, happy to be heading to Hershey!

Entering PA. On our cross country trip last year I had to take a picture for every state we entered. This time around I decided just the one for PA would be fine. I think J was secretly very thankful for this haha.

Viktor Krum lives there. I swears it.

Finally arrived! Below was our campsite right before a freak storm rolled in and almost blew everything away. I shit you not, the tent and the canopy both flew up. If our stuff was not already in the tent holding it down, it would have been gone like Dorothy.
J grabbed the tent and started staking it down, while I grabbed the canopy and a guy from a neighboring site helped me collapse it. We got everything in the screenhouse (front half of the tent) and sat there while the storm blew through. Then it cleared up and the sun came out as if nothing ever happened. It was crazy!

Sadly J&R got stuck in a lot of traffic. Once they got there, it was very much time for some Highlander beer for Jenny!
We love anything Scottish!

Once alcohol had been administered, it was time for Jason Mraz and DMB!

We had GA tickets, so we headed down to the field. This was our view for Jason Mraz. He was awesome, I would totally go see him headline a show!

However, we realized we were totally out of our element down there. It was a bunch of crazy drunk/stoned teenagers/college students. And little beebee wannabe hippies. Like this girl, who was totally rocking the mini backpack. I should add that she looked like she might have been 2 when those were popular.

She rocked it one shoulder, and in the backpack style as well.

I know what you're thinking. You wish you could be as cool as her. Don't we all.

Anyway, it was clear that the field section was not for us. We spotted some empty seats and beelined it for them. We were further back, but could actually see the stage, and sit down and rest our old selves.

We headed back to the campsite and made nummy s'mores, then crashed around 3 am.

Wait, what?! 3 am?! Ya I was shocked when I looked at my phone and saw that. We slept late the next morning, thank goodness. We got up and headed to breakfast, where we had a douchetastic waitress who refused to serve us breakfast. Oh well.

We finally found the Hershey Kiss lightposts though! We hadn't seen them at the park the night before for the concert, so that coupled with the lack of chocolate smell was cause for two very disappointed girls! Driving through the actual town of Hershey, we finally found them! If you click on the picture to enlarge it you can see they alternate wrapped and unwrapped all down the street. So cute!

Finally we arrived at Hershey Park!

We rode the roller coasters all day. Sadly the lines were so long that we only got 4 in. Boo. But we did get on this awesome one. I think it was the fastest coaster I have ever been on, it was such a rush! I wish we could have ridden that over and over all day! The video doesn't do it justice just how fast it takes off - check out the stats here.

Here's me with my favorite candy ever :-D

Chocolate World, where they give the tours. We didn't end up doing it because the line was forever long.

Saturday night we were supposed to see Harry Potter and the Half Blood Prince. But by the time we left the park and headed back to the campsite, we realized there was no way we were fitting it in. I was quite happy about that, muahahah. Instead we hung out around the fire again, and made the most amazing s'mores ever. I got a Reese's BAR at the park, so we used that instead of a plain Hershey bar. So. Freakin. Good!

Sunday we went to a diner for breakfast, which was sooo much better than the first place, and actually served us breakfast :-P Then it was time to say goodbye - the worst part of the nbff gtgs! :-(

But we know we'll be seeing each other in just over a month, when both J&R come to visit us for their first ever trip to Mass! Woot! Counting down the days :-)

A weekend made of awesome.

I'll get right to the point:

Dave Matthews Band
Hershey, PA

Pure. Awesomeness.

I am beyond excited. Friday morning at the crack of dawn we will be heading on a road trip to Hershey. I have always wanted to go there for the chocolatey goodness alone. So when DMB announced that they would be there during this summer tour, I knew a road trip was destined to happen. Then real a real stroke genius happened - I invited Jenny and her husband along with J and I. We have been counting down ever since. T minus 60 hours!

Oh and Jenny, here is a sneak peek at what I've been working on tonight...

I slacked on blogging this week.

My bad. And I lost a follower as a result. Sad times... LOL! I guess my excuse is we have been pretty busy though. This weekend especially was packed.

On Friday night we celebrated J's birthday a little early. We went to see RENT at the Colonial theater. Amazing show. I had seen the movie (and loved it) but this was my first time seeing the musical. I was hooked from the second it started. And the crowd was great - everyone cheered when Anthony and Adam came on stage. And the girl who played Mimi too (forgive me, I don't know her name). J loved it too of course. It was his second time seeing it. He was very impressed that it was just as good as when he had seen it in NYC.

Saturday we played tennis all afternoon with J&K (my brother and his girlfriend). We have such a blast hanging out with them. I feel so lucky that I get along so well with not only my brother, but his girlfriend too! After tennis we came back to our house for enchiladas, then headed to the drive-in with them. Let's just say, K and I + enchiladas + the drive-in = a whole lot of flatulence.

Pause. In case you don't know by now, I am very open about these things. If conversations about farts, poop, and the like disturb you, you may want to tread carefully in here. (This may cause me to lose more followers, huh? Oohh well!)

Okay so as I was saying - holy enchilada farts. J and J sat outside the car in camp chairs, while K and I sat in the back of the Jeep at the level of their heads. Farting throughout two whole movies. Bad move, boys.. baaad move! K and I thought it was hilarious of course.

I've gotten off topic though. The real point here was to tell you to get your ass to the movie theater and see Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen! What an aweome movie. (In case you don't live in an area with FiOS, please watch this video of pure awesomeness. Kthnxbai).

Actually, that commercial may have started my obsession with the word awesome. Awesome pussycat.

So ya - some people say the movie was all action scenes with no real plot. To that I say, 'uuhh your point?' I mean come on. It's Transformers. I don't think the first one had much of a plot either. It's not the plot that makes these movies so awesome!

I hope I'm not killing the awesome.

Also - the drive-in was great! If you have one around you I totally recommend going. It was 20 bucks per carload - so only 5 bucks per person, for two movies! The one thing that sucked was that it started late since the sun sets so late. And it was about 45 minutes from our house, so we didn't get home until about 2:30 am. That pretty much killed me seeing as I haven't seen that time of night (morning) in a lonnngg time!

Luckily our plans yesterday were very relaxing. A good friend of mine from home and her husband were in the area for the weekend (they currently live in Cali). We spent the day with them and a bunch of their friends and family at their beach house in Gloucester. It was a perfect day to be there! Friend is 12 weeks pregnant and looking great. Sadly I am looking the same size (if not bigger) than her. Can you say.. depressing?

Who am I to complain though, seeing as I have done absolutely NOTHING in the way of working out in the last three weeks. Sigh. Thus is my life. Perhaps I will lose some weight, perhaps I will keep slacking and not. Whatevs.

Anywho, it was a great weekend and I was sad to go back to work this morning. But I have a short week, and an even more AWESOME weekend to look forward to! This coming weekend I will finally get to see Jenny again! Super freakin huge SQUEEE!!! More on that to come...

Downtown For The Day

We spent the afternoon today walking around Boston. We started out in the common, then walked to the naval yard, then back to the common. The tall ships are in town right now, so that was our reason for going to the naval yard.

At the naval yard, we saw the gorgeous Commandant's House, where bff is thinking of having her wedding. Here is the house:

And here is what it looks out on (minus the tall ship that was in town this weekend):

Basically it would be a kickass place for a wedding! Hopefully they can book it :-)

The pups were adorable sticking their heads through the chain beneath the railings:
This is the ship that I chose for the subject of my photos :-P The Picton Castle:

The jCam's and the puppyCam's in front of the ship:

One of my favorite shots:

It was verra cool :-)

A sweet old Navy Jeep! Sucky picture though :-(

The U.S.S. Constitution

On the way back to the Common we stopped at Coldstone. I waited outside with the dogs, and these people came walking by with their car.

And now the obligatory puppy photo shoot pics:

Two weeks or two years.

This is what J said about ttc. He said he won't know until he knows. He thinks he will be ready in September, but he doesn't want to 100% commit to it. He said to keep planning as if we will, but be prepared in case September rolls around and he realizes he isn't ready. I don't feel like this is very fair to me, but he hasn't really given me any other choice. So - it's all up in the air, and we'll see what happens when we get there, I guess. ::sigh::

In other news, this is what it looks like outside right now. OH MY GOD! BLUE SKIES!!
There is seriously not a single cloud in the sky. I had forgotten what that was like! Even when we had sun last weekend, there were a lot of clouds rolling past and giving us shade and rain showers in between. Not today! Woohoo!!!!! And it's supposed to be 80! Thanks to all of that, I am a happy girl :-)

30 Day Shred... wassat? And other tales of blurgh.

I have been SUCH a slacker. I haven't done the 30DS in over a week. I actually feel like I have gained weight since starting.. my stomach is even bigger, and a pair of shorts that were snug in May don't fit at all anymore. I'm starting to feel that with the way I'm gaining, I should go POAS, or else I'll be the next girl on 'I Didn't Know I Was Pregnant' - for real.

I think I was just getting bored with doing the same workout every time. Or maybe that is just my poor excuse, and truly I am just lazy and unmotivated. Add onto that excuse this abysmal weather, por favor. Nothing gets me down like 30 straight days of grey and rain. Did you know that while we are breaking records for the amount of rain we are getting in the Northeast, the Northwest is breaking records for their lack of rain. What the fuck is wrong with the world!?!?

And for the cherry on top of my misery sunday, J hits me with the bomb last night that he isn't 100% sure about starting to TTC in the fall anymore. I give up. I mean, in no way do I want to start if he isn't 100% ready as well, but I am dying to start and did not see this coming at all. I am hoping he comes around. We'll see. He said he thinks he will want to, but won't know for sure until we get there. I know that if it weren't for my best friend's wedding in the beginning of May, I would want to start now. That is the only thing holding me back until September.
